Today, flowmeters in almost all industrial applications are equipments used to measure the volumetric or mass velocity of a flow in liquid or gas phase per unit time. Flowmeters are one of the most important measuring instruments for open or closed systems where a compressor or pump is located and a fluid is transmitted from one place to another. Instant flow data can be obtained with these devices, as well as how much fluid is used in total over a certain period of time. Flowmeters used to analyze the performance, efficiency and stability of the system are divided into different models.

Flow Meter Usage Areas

Designs, sizes and capacities of flowmeters; It differs according to usage area and installation type. Depending on the type of fluid used (chemical liquid, gas, water, oil, etc.) and the measurement principles of the flowmeters, which vary in manufacturing materials, can also be process-specific. Flowmeter Models

Although the flowmeters available on the market and used in basic industrial applications are categorized according to different parameters (mounting type, capacity, fluid type etc.), they are generally classified as follows:

Flowmeters can also be classified under different headings such as dipping type, flanged, clamped, sandwich type etc. according to the used place. The most widely used today; reliable and cost effective flow meter models are electromagnetic and mechanical flow meter types.

Electromagnetic Flowmeter Models

The operation of these flowmeters is based on the principle of electromagnetism, as the name suggests. In the electromagnetic flowmeter models, there is a magnetic field whose intensity varies according to the speed of the fluid. Due to its magnetic measurement, there are no parts in these flow meters to block the flow. These flow meters, which are much more accurate and accurate than many other models, are easy to install and commission. Many of the electromagnetic flow meter models can be equipped with additional sensors, analyzers or similar measuring devices.

Mechanical FlowMeter Models

The mechanical flowmeters, which are based on the basic physics rules of measurement, work by converting the kinetic energy of the fluid flowing into the rotational energy. To do this, a turbine is usually located in mechanical flow meters. The faster the fluid flowing through the flow meter flows, the faster the turbine rotates and this rotation speed is converted into volumetric flow and data is provided. Flow data can be monitored on a mechanical scale. Although it is not preferred for reasons such as some mechanical problems or causing pressure drop, it is frequently used in applications that do not require much sensitivity, especially with its affordable cost in industrial processes.
